again, better late then never or something. i find that ridleys can be kinda weird looking most of the time, but they have a fantastic reputation. ridley is a fairly young company being founded in 1990 and i don’t think they’re too well known outside of belgium and its neighbors. they sponsor team silence-lotto, which [...]

ok so this now post tour as i had all sorts of internet issues over the last week, but better late then never. bianchi is probably, overall, my favorite bike company (and so i’ll post 4 of ‘em instead of 3). during the tour they sponsored the very ill-fated team barloworld, which only finished with [...]

tour de france – kuota

kuota are another one of those companies i’m pretty sure i’ve never heard of before the tor this year and they seam pretty small. somewhat fittingly they sponsor the tiny team agritubel that just sort of quietly goes about their business every day. agritubel’s sponsor is a farm equipment manufacturer too, so the whole thing [...]

cervélo is one of the most hardcore bike companies around. they are all about the science of a good ride and really obsess about aerodynamics and engineering and, not surprisingly started out making nothing but time trial bikes. this little canadian company sponsors the danish team csc saxo bank on the tour, which has probably [...]

lapierre bikes, as ridden by team francaise des jeux, are awesome. they look great, they are very well respected, and they like to brag that they are still hand made in france by certified technicians. lapierre bikes are the what inspired me to do this little review of tour bikes, btw, so show ‘em some [...]

i think people sometimes associate “made in taiwan” with junk, but giant bikes are really good, and team columbia has been showing them off in style so far. kim kirchen has held both the yellow and green jerseys in the tour so far and overall the team has looked pretty strong.

giants are the new ten [...]

when things look too good to be true, they usually are…just a couple of days after they completely dominated the day riccardo ricco tests positive for doping (the third rider to do so) and the team drops out. when i posted on them before i was going to add that if one high profile person [...]

tour de france – bh

beistegui hermanos are one of those mainly european manufactures i’m not sure i’ve ever heard of before. bh is kind of an interesting company that started out as a firearms factory, then took up bicycles (a logical step for a basque manufacturer), and now not only make great bikes but also high end fitness equipment [...]
